AI Readiness Day
Work out where AI fits in your business, in one day
A day in person with one department of your business, within about 2 hours of Brisbane City: from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba. We look at how the work actually gets done and where AI and automation would save real time and money.
You finish with prioritised opportunities, a sequenced 90-day roadmap and a draft baseline AI Use Policy, all within 7 calendar days of the day.

For businesses with staff who know AI is on the list
Most of the owners I talk to have the same problem. Some of the team are already using ChatGPT or Copilot, nobody has decided what's allowed, and there's a nagging sense that the business should be doing more with it but no clear idea of where to start.
A Readiness Day is built for that. It suits businesses with a handful of staff up to a few dozen, where the owner or manager wants a straight answer before spending money on tools or builds. You don't need any technical background, and neither does your team.
How the day runs
The day itself is the middle part. What happens before it is what keeps it about your business instead of AI in general.
-
Before the day
A call to set it up, and two short questionnaires
We talk through what the business does, which parts of the week drag, and who should be in the workshop. One department per Readiness Day, so for a larger business we start with the one that will benefit most. I send a short business questionnaire and a short governance questionnaire, and ask you to line up a few real examples of the work that eats time: a quote, a report, the chasing that never gets done.
-
On the day
A full-day strategy workshop
I run the day with the key people in the agreed function. We map how the work really gets done, then work through the opportunities and score each one by value, cost, complexity and risk.

On the day
Opportunities, costs and priorities
We work out which opportunities are viable, roughly what each would cost and return, and in what order to do them. I aim for six to eight viable opportunities, up to eight, and I won't invent weak ones to hit a number. I also have a brief discussion with management to validate the starting rules for your AI policy.

Within 7 calendar days of the day
Your roadmap and baseline policy
You receive a sequenced 90-day roadmap with indicative costs and benefits, governance assumptions and outstanding actions, and a draft baseline AI Use Policy prepared from your questionnaire answers and the management discussion. The policy is a draft for your approval, a template-based starting point and not legal advice.
What you walk away with
Prioritised opportunities
Six to eight viable AI and automation opportunities where they exist, up to eight, scored by value, cost, complexity and risk.
A draft baseline AI policy
Green, amber and red starting boundaries drafted from your questionnaire answers and a brief management discussion. A draft for your approval, not legal advice or a compliance certification.
A sequenced 90-day roadmap
What to do first, indicative costs and benefits, and the governance assumptions and actions still open. Yours to keep whether or not you work with me on any of it.

If you want help with the roadmap
Some businesses take the roadmap and run with it themselves, and it's written so you can. Others want the first item built properly. I build fixed-price automations, from $1,500 + GST for a simple one, and the credit above applies to larger projects.
Questions people ask
Does my whole team need to be there?
No. The people who do the day-to-day work need to be in for part of it, because they know where the time goes. We sort out who and when on the setup call so the business keeps running. The Readiness Day covers one department at a time, so for a larger business we start with the one that will benefit most.
Do you gather input from my staff about how they use AI?
The day focuses on how the work gets done in the agreed department. The draft baseline policy comes from your questionnaire answers and a brief discussion with management, so staff input is not gathered independently. If you want your team to agree the rules together, the Half-Day AI Governance Workshop does that.
We're not very technical. Is that a problem?
Not at all. The day is about how your business works, not about the technology. Everything is explained in plain terms, and the roadmap is written for the person who signs off the spending.
What if AI isn't the right answer for us?
Then the roadmap will say so. Some jobs are better fixed with a process change or a tool you already pay for, and I'd rather tell you that than sell you something that won't get used.
Can you do it remotely?
Yes, if you are outside the Gold Coast to Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba area, or simply prefer it. On site works better when it's possible, because it's easier to see how the work really gets done.
Do I have to commit to anything after the day?
No. The price covers the day and everything you take away from it. What you do with the roadmap is up to you. If you commission an implementation within 30 days of the day, you get $500 off a Connected Workflow of $3,950 or more, or $1,000 off a project of $7,500 or more (one credit per Readiness Day).
